Help & Troubleshooting
Quick answers and step-by-step guides for getting started with MultiSourcery.
Quick Answers
Getting Started
Follow these steps to set up your first transfer.

Scan Your Network
Open MultiSourcery and click "Scan Network" in the Browse tab. The network topology map will discover hosts on your local network using Bonjour/mDNS, SSDP, ping sweep, and NetBIOS. Hosts appear as color-coded nodes — blue for Mac, cyan for Windows, orange for Linux, and more.

Connect to a Host
Click any host on the topology map to open the connection dialog. Choose a protocol (SMB, SFTP, AFP, NFS, etc.), enter your credentials, and click Connect. Recommended protocols are marked with a star. Credentials can be saved securely in your macOS Keychain.

Browse and Select Files
Once connected, the file browser opens in the right panel. Navigate folders, search for files, and switch between list and icon views. Click "+ Source" to add files to your transfer queue, or "Dest" to set a folder as a destination.

Queue and Add Destinations
Switch to the "Queue & Go" tab to see your queued source files. Add one or more destination folders — local or remote. Toggle between Copy mode (one-way) and Sync mode (bidirectional) using the center button. Choose your packet size for transfer optimization.

Start the Transfer
Click the green "Go" button to begin. The progress bar shows overall completion with per-file chunk progress. Each file displays its status — pending, downloading, syncing, or complete. You can cancel any transfer in progress.
